DeskDemon has been invited by Ireland's Venue Finder to review a selection of Ireland’s top venues and who better to check out what Ireland has to offer your meeting, conference and event needs, than you, DeskDemon’s users.

DeskDemon is therefore looking for a PA with Meeting, Conference & Event Organising responsibilities and your colleague to take a trip to Ireland to view a selection of properties on DeskDemon’s behalf and write a review of the venues you visit to be published on the site. Your flights, accommodation and meals will be included and all you will need is spending money.

Ciara Feely Cahalane, Managing Director of Ireland's premiere Venue Finder will be your host and she has put together a fantastic itinerary with plenty of flexibility, enabling you to sample and enjoy a selection of venues ranging from Executive Board Room retreats, Private Houses and Castles of Ireland, to large conference facilities.

It’s no surprise that Ireland has become one of the most talked about destinations in the world for corporate meetings. Ireland enjoys easy access by air and sea, a rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and a fascinating diversity of smart, fashionable and fast-paced cities alongside quiet relaxed rural areas. And with warm, friendly and hospitable locals, you’re guaranteed a trip to remember.

FindaConferenceVenue.com is a Venue Finding Service offered both online and by individual venue finding services. They pride themselves in finding the perfect venue in Ireland and have put together a selection of over 80 venues.

Your trip will sample venues in Counties Cork and Kerry – both in the very south of Ireland. Cork is Ireland’s second largest city; it is a harbour town offering a city, country and seaside experience. Cork airport has access from 16 UK airports, by Aerlingus, BMI Baby, Ryan Air and Aer Arann with Kerry and Shannon Airports being within a 2 hour drive. Cork City is a compact space with everything within walking distance. It boasts department stores, multinational high street fashion retailers and homegrown small boutiques. Kerry Airport has direct flights from Manchester and London with Ryan Air and Aer Arann. Co Kerry is known as the Kingdom! The combination of ocean, islands, mountains with its many towns and villages makes it an exciting journey of discovery. Towns such as Kinsale, Kenmare, Midleton, Macroom or Clonakilty are treasure troves for gift shops, bookshops, second hand shops, local giftware, pottery, glass and paintings.

The Itinerary: Thursday ~ Sunday.

The Itinerary can be tailored to suit your individual requirement for your event in Ireland, so please do share with us what type of venues suit your needs, if we haven’t covered them below.

Thursday Arrival - Upon your arrival on Thursday, you will be met at the airport and be brought to the Marybourogh Hotel and Spa. Nestled in the leafy suburbs of Cork, the Maryborough combines the charm and grandeur of a country residence with the luxury of an internationally acclaimed hotel. Depending on flight times, we can visit 2 of Corks newest luxury properties, both are golf resort hotels, set on hundreds of acres of land, with a warm Irish welcome awaiting you. That evening enjoy the surroundings of your hotel; get acquainted with your host and rest up for a busy few days of events!

Friday morning – free until 11am to enjoy a treatment at the hotel’s award winning Spa.

Friday lunch – we will set off for Kinsale – considered the gourmet capital of Ireland. This is located a half hour from Cork City and is a picturesque seaside town with quaint shops, restaurants and a breathtaking bay views. We will take a drive along the coast to Old Head Kinsale – a world famous links course that has been played by professionals such as Tiger Woods.

Friday Afternoon – on arrival back to the city we will introduce something different as a venue for an event, banquet, reception or indeed alternative day time meeting - Blackrock Castle and the old city jail - Cork Goal!

Friday Evening – you will overnight at another of Cork's finest hotels. That evening, we will meet for a pre-dinner drink and dine in an award winning restaurant. There are plenty of theatre and opera options to avail of also in Cork City and you will have time to yourself on Friday night to explore the city by night or just relax in your city centre hotel.

If interested in Team Building activities such as Falconry, pottery making, archery, quad biking, off road driving etc, please do let us know and we can show you the options on our travels.

Saturday – after a little free time to check out the City Centre, we will head off to County Kerry. This is about an hour and a half drive. Taking in venues in Killarney on our way to the beautiful town of Kenmare. Killarney boasts a host of 4 and 5 star hotels, it also features the National Event Centre and has wonderful incentive trip options with its lakes and national park. You will get a feel for its beauty with a drive around the Ring of Kerry.

That night you will enjoy the hospitality of an award winning boutique hotel – The Brooklane Hotel. This is located very close to the town of Kenmare where there is a host of fine restaurants and bars and you are sure to pick up a few tasteful souvenirs!

The following morning we will enjoy brunch in the 5 star retreat of Sheen Falls. With views of the estuary and with its own river flowing through the property, it offers a wonderful option for that special group.
