Tell us about one outstanding achievement you have done. It is always good to recognize our own contributions. Let us know ONE (I am sure of many) good thing you have done personal or business, just give yourself a pat on the back for something!!

Starting and completing the MOS Master Certification - first 3 disciplines passed in 6 months.
I assist people with Office stuff every day - half the time IT don't know the answer!
It's sad that a lot of employers have never heard of this and as usual admins have to fight their way to the top of the ladder, explaining qualifications and achieving goals which we should be recognised for but which no one has heard of.

I think my greatest achievement is my life, career and family, I was written off by family/teachers/careers advisor at 15 and told I wouldn't amount to much (pregnant and in with the wrong crowd) but 16 was a real turning point for me and I've had some great positions, very happily married and great children as well Like Gee I'd list the MOS qualification, although I never did Excel to get Master I only did the MOS because I worked in an IT training centre and the Manager (a real snooty woman) told me she didn't think I was up to it! So I did Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and Word Expert in about 4 months! I then left to come to this job and never finished it, although I don't use Excel to Master level. If nothing else I have a great talent for surprising people ! Callie

Only two people have done something they are proud of? I bet I ask if what is your biggest blunder many people would respond. It is so easy to remember the bad but harder to pat ourselves on the back on the good. Here are some of my achievements:
I remember creating a document in Filemaker Pro and having it all set up and looking good (we even made a print version) it had calculations and database look ups. I am still proud of that document.
I put on a some events I am still proud of, good memories.
On DeskDemon, I am proud of some of the ideas that took off, when I get an email saying this helped me, that makes my day. OH the digital magazines, as well,
I will put up a new Sound Off Monday, but hopefully a few other can see the positives in what they have done over the weekend.

Wow. Interesting question.
1. Raised two kids who are honest, hard working, drug free and just great young adults, while being a full time working Mom. When it's all said and done, that's one of the "what matters most" things in life that I consider a true accomplishment in this day and age.
2. Have worked my way up in the organization to a great role with a great boss who I wouldn't trade. I now have a role in the company where I am utilizing all of the skills I have acquired through out my 27 year career. It is very fulfilling. I have managed my career and kept my skillset updated through out the years.
3. Throughout my career I have maintained honesty and integrity and have earned the respect of all levels of management within our organization.
4. I have managed to stay married to the same wonderful man for the past 28 years, 29 years in July.
I consider these accomplishments, and blessings.

I've just found this website and it's looking good. My answer to the question is that I started to learn to play the flute in January 2007, from scratch, at the age of 41 and hope to take an exam in the future

I have a number of achievements I am proud of.
My most recent one is being chosen April winner for the Management Support Fellowship Award (thanks for voting for me, everyone that did!!!).
I'm very proud of passing the CPS test in the top 1% of candidates (back in the days when they told you the percent).
I'm proud of being a Microsoft Office Specialist, certified at the Master Level.
I'm proud that I was a CPR instructor for 15 years. I taught over 500 people and I feel certain that somewhere out there I have saved lives as a result of that work.
I'm proud that I was a Disaster Action Team captain for the American Red Cross - trained to go out and provide assistance after disasters strike (from the smallest single family home fire to widespread flooding and tornado / hurricane damage).
I'm proud that I have had articles published in OfficePro magazine.
I'm proud that I have shared my knowledge generously with others, whenever asked.
I don't rest on past achievements though. I'm always looking forward to the NEXT challenge!!! I set goals for myself every year to keep myself on track.

I've sung parts of Handel's "Messiah" and Bach's "Christmas Oratorio" and "St. Matthew Passion" as the mezzo-soprano soloist, as the only non-professional in the quartet.
Now, granted, these were community/church-based fundraising performances with an otherwise volunteer choir, but I stood shoulder to shoulder with a woman (soprano) who had a career in opera in New York, and a man (tenor) who's had a busy local career on the stage with various theater companies and professional ensembles, and I daresay I held my own.

My outstanding achievement is nowhere near in the league of other DDers ahievements however I am feeling quite proud of myself. I have just completed my Executive PA Diploma and received the certificate this weekend.
Although I have been a PA for the last 20 years I "fell" into secretarial work after taking a temping job following a move back to my home town. I have felt at times that people have looked down on me for not having a formal qualification but now I have a piece of paper to say I have!!
