How many meetings do you attend each week

How many meetings do you attend in the week?  If you do go to a weekly meeting is it helpful or could you be using your time more wisely?

Depending on outside meetings we prepare for, anywhere from two to as many as ten.  Some I only take minutes at, but I like to know what's going on in our business so I don't mind.  There are few that I feel are not worthwhile even if only for informational purposes.

I actually attend very few meetings.  But then, we're a very small agency.  I attend the monthly board meeting to take notes.  I generally attend any meetings regarding office machines and computers since I do the tech support, and benefits meetings because I'm the benefits administrator.  What can I say, it's a small office so we all wear many hats laughs.

Thankfully, I have no regular meetings that I attend.

We do have a department meeting once a month for the bossies.  I was at one a few months ago to do a brief presentation.  I think I'll start going to them every now and then so that I can get comfortable with the format and try to keep up on what is going on, although my attendance is not required in my position.  The administrative assistant tries to be here on those days but on the off chance that she is not, I would be required to take minutes.

Since most of my meetings are monthly or quarterly, I usually only have about 3-4 a month so it's not that many really.  However sometimes they do fall within the same week.

I rarely have to attend meetings.  The nature of the job doesn't call for it and my boss does all his own minutes so I don't need to attend to take minutes either!  A lot of the meeting he attends are depot based anyway and it wouldn't be practical.
