Buying gifts for the office can be difficult.  You want to be creative but still within a budget.   What are the most creative choices in purchasing gifts at the office?Regardless if you had to or not this year what would your choices be for:

Co workers from company
Co workers on a personal level
Boss
Clients

Co workers on a personal level - -  Home made items like cookies in tinted foil wrapped with a ribbon
Boss - A Desk Toy
Clients - Bottle of nice wine

Co workers from company - we did secret santa this year and it was a total hoot!
Co workers on a personal level - a bottle of wine.
Boss - for an ex-boss one year my colleague and I bought a Tyrone crystal letter opener.  It ended up as more of an ornament on his desk but we knew that and bought it anyway.  Normally I wouldn't buy gifts for any of my bosses, they don't buy me and I prefer it that way.
Clients - never been allowed to buy presents for clients, but a hamper or something along those lines is an ideal gift.

I usually post this with the question, but since I didn't I will add my favorites from my past experience:

Co workers from company:   We did the Godiva Chocolate as well (truffle box was my favorite to pick from)
Co workers on a personal level  - Tree ornaments, or a magnet for those who do not celebrate Christmas.
Boss -  Something personal -  For a Golfer, maybe golf balls, For a fly fisherman, fly box, I would put some thought into it.
Clients - Gift baskets, though I never had to send out client gifts.

Co workers from company - I am making cookie gift bags - gingerbread dipped in chocolate with a matching paper casting and a small ornament attached (total cost for 11 gifts about $20)
Co workers on a personal level  - star bucks gift card (coffee freaks here)
Boss - best golf courses coffee table book (found at library sale for $1!), bottle of wine
Clients - wine, gift baskets, rounds of golf, spa packages, desk accessory with company logo (clock with theromstat for example).  One company gave all the employees of our company journals with our names embossed on the front I still have mine and thought it was a very nice gift.

Co workers from company: I'll add my voice for Godiva!
Co workers on a personal level: I do not do this so have no clue
Boss: again, I do not give my bosses gifts
Clients: I've never done this but our cleaning company just sent over a box of chocolate covered strawberries--they were fabulous and would be my pick

Co workers from company - we exchange names so we only need to get a gift for 1 person each year and give them at our little Christmas party.

Co workers on a personal level - I usually hand make something for 2 or 3 people that I work with. Last year I made quilted coasters, this year I made snowflake ornaments.

Boss - I have 4 bosses, so we all chip in together and get them each a $25 Jos A. Banks gift card.

Clients - We don't buy for clients...thank goodness! If we did, I would be the one in charge of figuring out what to get them...I don't want to do that. Smiley

Gosh I must be scrooge!

Co workers - we agreed not to get each other anything (the other PA and myself).
Boss - he's a new boss and we haven't worked together that closely to swap gifts yet.  My old boss received a nice bottle of wine from me last year and gave me a £75 meal gift voucher at a local restaurant!
Clients - dealt with at corporate level and so fortunately I don't have to buy anything.

One of my coworkers suggested a half day at the spa instead of exchanging gifts.  Then we get to do something fun together and for ourselves.

Boss - I got him a gift card for the team store for his favorite football team.  I already did Jamba Juice (smoothies) and his favorite restaurant for boss's day and his birthday.  He (a.k.a. - his wife) got me a Coach purse.

My 4 Directors - I got each a gift card for something they like (2 iTunes, favorite restaurant and a Starbucks).

Co-workers - Got each of them a restaurant gift card and an ornament that can record a voice and has a custom picture.

No clients to buy for, thankfully!

Misslynn you are very generous I have to say.  You must have spent a fortune on all of that.

Since there is a very strict ethical rules to go by in my company, there is no giving of gifts like y'all are talking about.  (Limit is set for $$ that can be spent on a co-worker or boss)  So I get around this and still get to play "Santa" by doing up goodie bags and giving them to just everyone that I run into around the offices.  The goodie bags are normally 1/3cup of Spiced Tea mix or 1/3 cup of Cream of Chicken Soup Powder mix (mixed up in a large batch and split into little baggies, so they go a long way).  THis way it doesn't cost much per "gift" and ethics don't come into play.  This year I was able to give away approximately 100 baggies total, which meant I got to gift 100 people in my office and made 100 folks smile.  That was my goal and next year I'll know to make more, as there were some that were missed who stopped by to see if I had any goodies left over.  Oh, and with each goodie bag is the ingredients and directions to make the whole batch, so the gift can continue to give year round.  So those who stopped by, at least got the directions to make their own and will know to look for me earlier next year.

By doing gifts this way, I was able to give to all the Directors and Assistant Directors, as well as all my co-workers and any one else I ran in to, including some clients.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!!

Greetings!  I'm new here but wanted to share my ideas too.

I'm in a very small office (five of us total), and we just moved into new office space from the owners' home.    Our business is based on egg products (chickens), so for the owners (husband & wife team) I found some charming rooster & hen wall plaques that can be part of the office decor.

Our office space is not "up-to-speed" yet....we still have to get a furnace installed (using space heaters for the present) and plumbed for water (we "get" to stroll over to the city library to use the bathroom).    My two co-workers are "cold-blooded" and complain that their hands are cold all the time.....so I got them each some "hand warmers" like those used by hunters and ice-fishermen....I found these in the sporting goods dept of a large discount chain.

For the "office" I bought a very neat chicken calendar, which we all can enjoy.

As I said, it's a small office, very family-friendly.    Being in an office like this, with a definite "theme" to our business really helps!
