I am an Administrative Assist. I have been in this job for 10 years everywhere I go there seems to be a boss that have problems with my work. The funnything is all my co-workers seem to think that I am very smart and they tend to come to me for advice as to how to deal with my current boss. I need some help in communicating with my boss. Her character is moody. Example of the conflict. Everysince I have been here she has never completed her timecard on time so that I can do my part. I tell her in ample enough time that I would lile to have all timecards completed by such and such date via email. She continues to wait until the last minute and when she does not get paid on time she blames me.
Alll suggestiosn are welcomec.

You say that there always seems to be a boss that has problems with your work. Here are some tough questions to ask yourself:
Are the same kind of problems coming up over and over?
Have you ever had a meeting with your boss to clear the air?
Are you willing to accept criticism and use it to bring about change?
Have there been any issues brought up as part of your annual reviews/evaluations?
Is there an underlying conflict between you and her that needs to be resolved?
Could it just be that she is a naturally forgetful person and one email isn't enough to remind her?
Have you talked with her about how to most effectively communicate with her?
Are you set in your ways and/or perhaps give the impression that you are unwilling to change?
In regards to the specific issue you listed, most of the bosses I've worked for have been so busy that they need multiple reminders. They also don't always give priority to email messages because they get so many-it's too easy for your email to get overlooked. I've had bosses that are going in so many directions that unless I stood there and waited, they would never complete their timecard.
Good luck, Tif

They seem to want the world - I know the feeling - nothing is ever good enough. They will nit pick with everything they can find to complain about.
You have been given some good advice so I would suggest a sit down to try and resolve some of these issues. Ten years is a long time to have had these issues.
