Hi
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas. I work as a PA in Northern Ireland and am considering moving abroad to the UK to work, has anyone done this or do they know of any companies who would be willing to employ on this basis. I feel stuck in a rut at times in my job and some days feel like nothing more than a glorified typist. I want an exicting job, one that is busy and where I can be more productive etc.
Well thats my moaning over, thanks and look forward to any replies.

Wish I had something to offer, but I'm on the wrong side of the pond. But I wanted to wish you luck!

Thanks for your reply. I am considering trying to move to Scotland, so if anyone has any tips or advice they would be most welcome.

Tracy,
I moved from NI to England in 1997 to further my career and successfully too I might add. I returned to NI in 1999 with the new experience gained and have managed to secure jobs with some very prestigious companies.
If it's any help I temped with Reed before I left NI and then registered with a branch close to where I was living in Eng. I got temp work as soon as I moved over and it wasn't long after, that I obtained a perm job.
Are you originally from NI? Why are you considering this move, eg. fed up, career prospects? Would be interested to hear your comments.

Hi G
Thanks for your reply. At the minute I feel that it is time for a change and would like to gain experience outside of NI and try a further my career with the possibility of either staying in the UK or moving back to NI several years down the line. I would like to gain experience working in different environments and others have also said that travelling would be a good way to go. I am glad to hear it worked out for you so heres hoping!.

Good luck! Where in the UK are you planning to go? I would at least register with an recruitment agency (as I said above) near to where you will be living. It's a start and you will get a feel for what is on offer. What kind of company do you currently work for?

Hi Tracy
I've sent you a PM with some info on the Glasgow/Edinburgh job market and some websites and recruitment agencies you could look at.
