that we're well aware that people like pseudonymns, in fact we encourage them for your security, however is is important that you all understand the following facts:
If you create a pseudonymn and use it strictly for disrupting this forum environment, as in the case of one user promoting a secretarial website, then your account will be terminated and your IP address blocked.
Our moderators work very hard to keep flame wars from breaking out and we attempt carefully to avoid becoming the "thought police" so it's time for a look at the rules of the road for your free usage of Deskdemon.com.
1. We do not post links to other secretarial websites which do not provide 24/7 moderation to prevent security issues. We are very selective about those we DO post in order to prevent them from taking advantage of Deskdemon's top 10,000 alexa ranking which; frankly we earned and we've invested considerable resources in maintaining. AND to make sure that we find the information and resources useful and reliable. Such requests to post a specifically secretarial weblink should be sent to
editor@deskdemon.com2. We do not allow people to adopt pseudonymns in order to hold their own flame war by talking to themselves and assuming no one knows who they are.
a. to protect your security we are aware of IP addresses. (every website is)
b. We're aware when someone is pretending to be a user and has an agenda, most times we let it go. (today we didn't as you can see from the thread below posts have been deleted and two user accounts have been terminated)
3. We don't post profanity
4. We don't abuse the moderator team by public writing or Private message
5. We don't post material when we know where it came from without knowing the source, or citing the source in an appropriate manner. (even if that means saying..."don't know where this came from it's one of those long standing Email things..."
6. We keep topics on topic and post them in the appropriate areas.
7. We respect that Deskdemon is a free resource and that Deskdemon the company pays people in order to KEEP it a free resource.
That's pretty much it.
Yes, this post is about a user who claimed to be a user and who was in fact the owner of ONE of the two sites recently being discussed in these forums. A pseudonymn is one thing, but having a war withyour self??! Sorry we dont have time for that.
Future actions should such a situation result can and will include Deskdemon account termination.
Sorry for the rant,, can I go do some work now?
