When I saw this posted, it actually read "Arkansas High School Reading Test", but since then I've seen it go as far down as 8th grade and from any of the southern states.  So far the best I've heard it is from my father, a tried and true Arkansan.  To get the full effect this must be spoken outloud (and try for a southern redneck accent).

Enjoy... (this is an abreviated test, as I can't remember all 4 of them)

Radar... don't feel bad, I was too until I learned the secret.

Read it:  "M" "R" "Mice"  (Em are MIce)

"M" "R" "Not"   (Em are not)

          "S" "A" ""R"    (Ess-A-are or translated Yes they are)

"C" "M" "ED" "BD" "Feet"  (See Em iddy beddy Feet)

          "L" "Il" "B"     (El I'll B or translated Well I'll Be)

"M" "R" "Mice"   (Em are Mice)

Same for all of them...  Hope that helps out.

Radar I had to say it about ten times before I could flow through it enough to get it.  Now I'm stuck with that thar accent.  (like the guys here at work don't have enough to tease me about)

I used to live in an area that talked like that as a child.  Although I've pretty much changed the thing into a light "Southern Bell" accent, it takes a week to drop the damn horrible twang when I visit there.

Hey RadarO,

That one flew over my head too.  Thanks for the explanation CountriGal. I was totally lost.

What can I say, y'all just wouldn't have graduated from AR if you can't pass a *simple* reading test.

Just kidding...but I love to pull this on folks who brag about their degrees.  "Oh really, well then you should have no problem reading this" and hand them a sheet with these on them.  The look on their face is priceless, only beaten by those who actually say "Well of course I can read this" and then try to.       Ok, when I'm bored I do odd things for enjoyment.
