Really pleased to hear this outcome for you and that not only do you recognise the value you have contributed but so does the organisation. I am sure you are looking forward to establishing that working relationship all over again with your new charge and knowing that the organisation is continuing to grow and change will present its own challenges and opportunities - enjoy every minute of it.

Thanks Cathy. I plan to take a couple days to decompress, then continue to take it one day at a time.

Just a quick update. While on my days off, my mother in law passed away. Had been dealing with her illness throughout all of this ordeal as well.
Did have a few days from work on bereavement leave. Have begun working with my new boss, just doing what I do, trying to keep new boss organized and getting used to a whole new management style. New boss has alot on the plate, but does not work the same way as old boss did. Slower pace. Takes some getting used to. Old boss is visiting here on a business trip / holiday soon. Happy to say, He has already sent e-Mails to a few customers and co-workers in the organization, and cc:d me, that I am in charge of his schedule when he is here. Works for me:) Have begun working with and establishing a rapport with his new assistant as well.
Being challenged with learning new processes and no communication. Everything is in the reactive mode instead of proactive mode. Managing change. It is very frustrating at times, but I am just taking it one day at a time. I always say, "You don't know what you don't know". It is incumbent upon those changing the way we do business internally to inform those that are supposed to carry out the new processes, andbe receptive to those who are offering suggestions for improvment. It is what it is.
Not as stressed as I have been over the past several months. After all of that, the rest is a piece of cake!
"That which does not kill us, makes us stronger"
Hope all have a great day!

Peaches - sorry to hear of your loss. Hope you are getting through what is a difficult time. New boss, new role, new challenges - you and I together Peaches I am with the same company but have moved into a different role with a new boss and who I really enjoy working for. She is so energetic, proactive and has plenty of new ideas which means that as I am supporting her, I am in the middle of it all too. So many new things to learn and new systems to set up so as well as doing, I am learning. I'm taking docs home to read to get up to speed so I can feel more 'with it' the next day. Great bedtime reading I find that when I am in meetings and taking the minutes, I learn quite a lot that way. Yes, much of it goes over my head what with new terms and phrases etc, but am getting there. At times I feel a bit lost but at the same time I feel I am making progress and actually enjoying stretching myself. As you say Peaches, one day at a time. Good luck

I hope things click soon with the new boss. I'm sure you'll figure out a way to work well together.

Cathy and all: I am just taking it one day at a time and learning new processes, and new management style. Breaking old habits and managing change. Old boss is in next week and I have him all set with schedule, travel and everything. Managing the new boss and the old when here is a piece of cake in light of all of the other changes and issues we have experienced with the re-organization and back office system problems IT never thought about ahead of time. Ahhhh......next week is another week, but a short week.
I am managing my circle of control, and not letting in those things I can not impact or change. So far ok.
