Does  your company support a charity, or do you feel strong about an issue?  If so lets us know what your personal  or professional cause is.   Most companies I have worked for support the United Way.   "Green or environmental" issues are also becoming more important.  For my personal choice, I look for food banks to help out.  What are your thoughts?

Oh by the way, we do have a page on DeskDemon for charity causes on the UK portion of the website:

My company is small and as such does not support any charities
I just started volunteering as an usher at our   brand   new   Performing   Arts   Center.    This   is   a   really   neat   way   to   volunteer.    So   far   I   have   seen   an   Italian   Opera,   Gospel   Superfest   and   Annie   Lennox.    I ' ve   signed   up   for   15   events   between   now   and   the   end   of   the   year  .    My   husband   works   odd   hours  ,   moving   schedules  ,   so   getting   to   see   shows   or   concerts   usually   doesn’t coincide   with   his   schedule  .    I   almost   feel   guilty   calling   this   volunteer   work  !   But   some   of   the   shows   aren't   my   cup   of   tea -   I   guess   that   is   the   work   part  .    The   center   keeps   track   by   a   point   value   of   shows   we   work  ,   so   the "  hot  "   shows   go   to   volunteers   with   higher   points   if   they   have   too   many   requests   to   work   a   night  .    I   highly   recommend   this   kind   of   volunteering  .    Our   center   needs   65   volunteers   for   each   show .

My organisation works basically to help children affected by the Lords Resistance Army war that has been going on in northern Uganda for the past 21 years.  We fund so many charitable activities and actively participate in them too.
Last month on 21st October, I participated in the Gulu walk that was aimed at creating awareness about the people affected by war and also raising funds for the people living in Internally Displaced Peoples camps.
I like participating in charities that help make peoples lives better.
