Being "Jade's PA" might not appeal to some people.  If you were to choose a high-profile person to whom you would like to be assistant, who would that be, and why?

I would like to have been assistant to Coco Chanel/Jean Muir/Yves Saint Laurent to name just a few - just think of all that lovely fabric and fashion shows.  On the other hand, assistant to The Pink Floyd/Peter Gabriel/Kate Bush would be an insight in to the music/recording industry.

I would want to do a motivational speaker like Stephen Covey. No interest in supporting spoiled rock stars or actors. Smiley

I am about to start my dream job in a week.  I will be the personal assistant to a well known hypnotherapist and can't wait to begin.  The best part of my job is everyone in his office is down to earth and KIND to each other, especially him.
I can not believe my luck.  He also has to travel to London and other countries and I may have to go with him on occasion.  Any advice when it comes to supporting someone in another country.  I have never had to do that before.

My sister had my dream PA job a few years ago...she worked for a business that was just one guy. She was his right arm. She completely ran the office while he traveled, she dealt with all his clients, she helped edit and produce his presentations, she did some personal stuff for him--and he treated her like GOLD. As well he should have. I would love that. No noisy, pointless chatter from contractors around me, no last-minute crazy corporate agenda, none of that--just lots of work and appropriate recognition for it.

I have my dream job - not that he doesn't drive me crazy sometimes but he's a great boss.  Only thing that could be better would be to be the EA to the owner of an NBA team.

Me too - I have to say that my job ticks most of the boxes on my wish list - great boss with the same sense of humour as me (which is really unusual to find!), fun industry (coffee), 90% project work, maximum autonomy, travel to the US every year ...  I'm really lucky and feel pretty appreciated here.

But if I could choose another, it would be as EA to Jed Bartlett in the West Wing, or maybe to David Tennant (Dr Who) because he's seriously sexy!

I'm living my dream job sort-of (except for the pay, but that'll change).  I wouldn't want to go anyplace else.

Ellen, not to get off-topic here, but why are you having to move away from your job?  Where in Texas are you?  I'm actually headed to Dallas and San Antonio in a couple weeks on vacation.

I'd really like to be the Personal Assistant to someone like Donald Trump.  Someone big in business, in money, etc who has an entire company of staff to call on to get things done.  Being able to call on a support system like that, I know that I'd be able to make everything perfectly smooth for him and handle all the bumps he wanted to throw into his schedule.  I mean, controlling that important of a schedule, with flights and meetings everywhere, several locations in a day possibly, but knowing that you have reliable employees to call on to make it happen?  My dream... in charge, keeping up with powerful folks so I can learn at their knee -so to speak - and yet not the one that the public or anyone looks directly at when problems occur.  Great learning location!  Then I could move on to being one of those important and rich people.

Miss Lynn,

Yep, I'm moving.  I've just posted the details in the Cafe.  I live in Dallas, and I'll be here for a few more weeks.  PM me if you'd like some info on Dallas.

Aside from my current job, of course!  I would love to be involved in the music business perhaps as an Exec Assitant to one of the higher ups in the record industry.  Just to get the foot in the door and be ground floor to an up and coming artist would be absolutley wonderful.  I'm addicted to country music, and I'll be the first to admit it's an addiction and a life long one at that, there is no turning back.    I've grown up with the music and it's never left, now the challenge is keep it country and keep it more on the traditional side while keeping the listeners.  That is the challenge.  It's so bad right now it's hard to tell the difference.

I have my favorite artists and Randy Travis being the best of the bunch.  I would love to work with a top notch industry person and help promote an artist I would have the same passion as I have with an artist such as Randy Travis and Dierks Bentley and Sara Evans' of the day.  Just to work in the industry in that format I would be in heaven!
