Wow, Lynn.  This sounds awful.  It's just the kind of thing I'm expecting to happen to me, due to some changes that have been happening at my workplace.  Take a deep breath and hold on to whatever job you end up with there.  You'll be much more confident going into interviews WITH a job than without one.  Without one, you'll appear much more desperate.  

I'm sorry to hear this--but it seems to be happening everywhere.  Best of luck to you in your future endeavors....and keep us posted.
