I have a calendar that is shared with the entire facility, but we all use the same version of MicroSoft's Outlook and therefore we simply use that Calendar but have it set up on our server in such a way that assigned folks have the ability to enter/edit information on it, but everyone can view it.  Since y'all are all using the same version, not sure this option would be available to you.
