I do agree that working there is an interesting job, but I found it truly disconcerting that the other woman (Eileen was it?)a. demeaned her employer by talking about how he never knew where he was going and generally speaking about him like he was some imbecile who would not survive without her, and b. all of her "stories" were her stories not having anything to do with the profession as a whole. In fact, I doubt she's given a single bit of consideration to any other professional but herself in many a year.
Further, her comment about computers having "spoilt us all" was pure rubbish, computers have enhanced us as a profession and given us value far above the typist mentality that this woman seemed to embrace with such gusto. Whether you are a career secretary or not, I think that's a poor example of one and certainly though her career has been distinguished, she should not be speaking for all of us.
Reprehensible.
