I'm sure you're upset and reading too much into it. Can you ask about it, just for clarification? Will it have an affect on how your boss or her/his bosses think of you? I doubt that. When New York City was supposed to have the "Blizard of Many Centuries" this year, I was in that Monday, but not Tuesday. Kinda worried about my commute and I was just feeling blah, so I stayed home. Wednesday, I went in and developed an upset stomach and a fever. So I took a swig of Pepto and two Tylenol and continued to work. Thursday, I was woozy in a meeting with my president because of the same fever. Friday, I skipped lunch with the president of our company to nurse my fever. I was SO SCARED having taken two sick days in one week! But my boss said better that I took the time off than risk passing out at work. You were really sick to stay home, huh? I'm sure that staying home felt good, too. You got some rest, watched a talk show or Judge Judy or got to read some of that book that's been sitting around. If you ask what that meant and how it affects your employment record, I'm sure you'll find out that you are right where you need to be, career-wise.
