I'm not particularly aware that Bosses Day is something 'celebrated' in the UK. I never have certainly!
What about making a hand made card to say thanks for being nice bosses? Not too expensive, you can use lots of stuff round the house, including silver foil, bits of ribbon, and if you have any stencilling stuff, you could use the stamps on something like brown paper to jazz it up.
Bake something? Even something like brownies - it's about the thought counting, rather than the cost. Effort is always perceived as higher than spending money.
