Our company reorganization announcements were made yesterday, and I have been appointed to be the admin for the operations manager.  I held this same job for three years (1997 thru 2000) when I took on my current position.  Current boss is moving to a new location.  I am very happy to go back into operations again (that's where all the action is) and I know all of the team members (it's just like an old shoe - I'll slip right back into the groove of things there).  My new boss is a great guy (I've worked with him in the past) so I'm really excited about this.  Transition will be happening throughout the next month.

It's been a bittersweet experience these past few days and will be in the coming weeks.  I honestly cannot be happy and excited about things, knowing that many people here have lost their jobs.  It is an awkward situation right now, but everyone is muddling through as best they can...

Just thought I'd share...

We're glad to hear that you've made it through, and have moved into a position that you're familiar with and are ready to tackle.  Our sympathies also go out to all of our peers who didn't make it through, either at your company or the many others that are experiencing the same shifts in workforce.

Let us know how it gets on SNA...  Here's hoping that the shoe fits as well as it did before.

SNA,

I'm glad you're moving back to an position you're comfortable with.  While you can't very well go dancing in the halls, you still deserve a pat on the back for not being layed off.  Obviously you are so good that they can't live without you.

SNA,

I am happy to here that you made it through the layoffs.  I know how you feeling right now, we just went through a similar situation this past December.  Enjoy your new position.  Thank God you don’t have to worry any more.

Take care.

It took me a while to remember (and then to verify) the connection.  Did Ms. Poly Urethane make the cut?  I remember that she was causing you no end of grief...
