Well, first of all, this job was created when I took the position. I don't have a real clear description if what it is I actually *DO* (and neither does anyone else) so writing a desk manual would be a waste of time in the long run. Updating files, as I said already, is clearly not for me to be doing. Plus, my boss needs his computer frequently, and my hour or so allotment is all that can be spared... so taking on anything like that is out also.
As for jumping into MIS on my own... not an option either because there is one person hired specifically for the job, who has *just enough* of his own work (similar situation to mine) and doesn't want some admin coming in and stepping on the only work he has. Which is understandable.
So, I'll just have to tough it out somehow. Maybe this interview will work out, maybe it won't. It would be dumb of me to look for something new right now... it'll take away my focus of staying busy/happy here.
I'll post an update later about the interview.
