Jess, before you clear out, definitely touch base with HR, or whomever keeps your personnel file, and make SURE that nothing was put in writing in it. Even though you were not told that anything was being put in writing does not mean that some e-mail or other snippet in writing wasn't slipped into your file. As back-stabbing as this person is/was, I wouldn't want to leave this to chance. Sounds like something she might just try and if she has friends in the right areas, you wouldn't know until it's too late if you don't look now.
And if you do find something in writing, definitely get a retraction or counter in writing too. And if it's something about your stealing from the previous company, I'd really look to taking legal action as it's bad enough to spread rumors verbally, but when it's in writing too it's doubly hazardous to your professional image. I'm with some of the others who think that leaving is making it too easy on this person... you really should take legal action, but if it's not your style, then I can understand not doing so. I just hate to think of this supervisor being left un-checked and worry what she'll do to the next person in your shoes. Hopefully they'll have a group like this site to help them through the situation, if it arises. All you can do is be true to you.
As for the 'don't get along well with others' idea... talk to your fellow secretaries and perhaps get a statement from one as the lead, or several of them individually (in writing) stating that you worked well together, were a team player, etc, etc... Even if it's not needed to counter anything Back-Stabber has said or says, it can't hurt to have those recommendations from Peers when going for interviews. Can you see it? "How do you know that you're a team player?" "Well, Mr. Interviewer... I've always gotten along well with others, and have some statements from my previous teammates that support this." Could be a good thing.
Good luck in your job hunt... and hopefully the real right job will be out there for you. Keep us informed!
Hugs,
