COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT!!!

How many times I've seen this written on your boards and wondered when it would be my turn.  My turn has come

I don't post often on the boards, but some of you may remember in previous posts that I've mentioned my job being split in two (budget and secretarial).  For the longest time now I have wanted to just do solely financial work.  Hard work pays off!  I am now going to be doing my dream job.  They have restructured my workload.  I have been incorporated totally into the one department and will now be doing strictly budgetary work.  The new job offers an opportunity to grow and expand with lots of things to learn.  I already get along quite well with my boss.  The position is salaried with a nice jump in grade (and pay!).

Oh, it's a lovely day in the neighborhood

And let's all say it now ... "GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT" (and, of course, work hard for what you want).

Woooo Whoooo!  Yippee!!  Throwing a virtual confetti party for Spitfire.  I remember your posts, and your dreams, and am glad to see that what you've worked so hard for is coming through for you in the form of your new position.  And the fact that they're giving you a raise (pay and grade) is just icing on the cake!  Very thick, sweet icing!

Glad to hear that your waiting has paid off.  Let us know how everything goes with the move to the new position, and drop by occassionally to keep us informed of how you're doing.

Confetti is all well and good, but we wanna piece of that thar cake ... with or without icing.  A piece of coffee and walnut cake with coffee glace icing.  That would do nicely.

Thanks to all of you for your congratulations and for your support over the years.  I'm one of those people who only posts when I feel I have something to contribute, although I check the boards every day.  I have learned A LOT from this site, just from reading and "listening" to you all.  It has definitely helped.

You know, they could have offered me an administrative assistant position, and I would have jumped at it.  When the boss first told me that they had given her permission to hire an assistant and was I still interested (we had discussed this several times over the last few years, with me gently letting her know that I would welcome the opportunity if it ever arose), I assumed it was just going to be an administrative assistant.  When she developed the job description and showed it to me, I was bowled over!  There it was - a job to be done under limited supervision, with tons of things for me to learn and do on my own and be responsible for.  It just blew me away!

To give you some perspective, I've been wishing for something like this for a good 6 years or more.  So it was definitely a long time coming.

Then again, it was worth the wait.  I've worked really hard during this time learning company financial policies and developing my relationship with this boss.  So, maybe it is good that it took so long because now my position is so much more than I thought it would be.

Thanks again for all of your congrats - I am flying high right now!!!!
