the old post about the toner bandits and how one of our wonderfully talented and comedic posters responded to their ploy.

What I remember (and that's not too much lately) is that the "innocent victim" on this side of the phone conversation was so "pleased" that the toner bandits called because she had a DOG stuck in the copier and that they needed someone to come out ASAP and help remove the dog.  (Have I gotten any of this correct?  I hope?)  I was trying to retell the story but as you can see I don't remember many of the details.

Can anyone help?  I've searched for "Scam" and "toner" and to no avail.  Does anyone hear remember the thread?

Thanks - Laura

That's the best although how you keep a straight face during the conversation is beyond me!

That is great...I printed it off for our receptionist, she deals with these guys all the time and now has something new to add to her repertoire!

I wish I'd had this from the get go.  My boss would love it as he is one who likes to pull practical jokes.  I will definately have to share this one with him.

Thanks Andrea.  I knew that it was one of our most talented citizens, I should have guessed it was you!

We could use a page that has these over the top, ROFL, CLASSIC stories -- does anyone else remember KSMILE's Fed Ex story like it was told yesterday? On a bad day, I'd love to be able to click right to the page and laugh my anger away - just a thought.

Thanks again for the link.  I know that we will use it well.

I remember, and think back on it to laugh myself too.... and I agree that it would be nice to have a "hall of fame" for these oldies but goodies that make us all laugh...  With permission from the authors, the stories might be able to be transferred from a posting to a permanent site... What says you oh revered one Andrea?

CountriGal,

I think that's a great idea. Every so often, we get these classics. KSmile with her waving down the Fed Ex plane, Andrea and her copy machine poodle.  Andrea with her duck, and also Tink.
