I realize that the higher floors in this building are warmer than ours here (ground floor) but I actually have a space heater up on my desktop blowing hot air right at me today. If running the air conditioning AND a space heater isn't a waste of energy, I don't know what is.

It's such a nice day outside--if we could have windows open, that would eliminate the need for a/c today. But they're all sealed. Our building has tons of big windows on all sides, and not one of them opens.

I know this is thoroughly wicked, but have you tried sneazing everywhere and oinking like a pig?  It would certainly get your point across to someone and, perhaps, give you time away from the arctic square (or is your building a rectangle?)

It's why we called the row of cubes in my former office "Cardigan Row".  Every chair it seemed, had a black cardigan sweater tossed over the back for when things got nippy.

It also ended the argument over open toed shoes and sleeveless blouses in the office -- it was too dang cold to wear either!!!

We haven't had this issue this Summer, why, we haven't had Summer long enough for it to be an issue. July 8th with a high of 70F today, when we should be in the 80's or more.  This has been going on since Memorial Day holiday weekend. NO Summer in sight for more than a couple of days at a time.  Not good for pumpkin season either.

Take your sweater and a blanket too.  It might get the point across ...

Maybe those gloves too with the holes on the ends so you can type.  Might help even more.

I froze yesterday in my office, forgot my jacket.  I even turned up the thermostat, I can hear our a/c unit running all day long (14th floor of 23 floor bldg).  Our building is either too cold or too hot - they can't seem to get a happy medium.  As for windows, I can hear enough of the sirens, car engines, honking etc. that I could only imagine how worse it would be opened.
