Have you ever caught anyone at work with "inappropriate" content on their computer?

You know what, I am one of those people who ignore what is on other people's computer screens, whereas others have a right good nosy before speaking to me or asking a question.
In this instance I therefore have to say no, never seen anything inappropriate.

I have seen a few resignation letters (supposedly on a 'just in case' basis) which was slightly embarrasing for the people concerned, but nothing steamier than really bad jokes!

No, but we had a company do a trawl on our systems a while ago and it was interesting to see what they found. One person was disciplined. Makes you wonder why they didn't think about it before downloading something they must have known was iffy.

The only staff in my company who have internet access are those who require it to do their jobs.

Well, I guess that's one solution but I can't think of anyone in my company - except the cleaners - who don't need internet access as that is where a good chunk of our work takes place.
By the way, the content in question didn't come from the internet but an email. That's probably TMI.

You might not believe this but IT filters content that falls into "any" category.
I had an email from someone confirming a meeting and pick up time for my boss once he arrived at his destination. Part of it read something like, "an escort will meet you at X to transport you to Y". You can rest assured I had an email from the sender saying this had been quarantined. When I enquired why, it was because the word "escort" was used in the email.
Everything is filtered according to categories so even if we wanted to log on to a certain website, the content category would probably flag up "blocked".

I used to work for a family owned company and one day I went into the President's office to get a signature or something and notice very inappropriate content on his screen. I just acted like I hadn't noticed. I supposed I could have cried sexual harassment, but that's not my style. Now if he had been sending it to me, that would have been another story. Him and his sons were known to look at that stuff and we would have to call in outside IT at least once every other month to clean up one of their computers becuase of a virus caught from an inappropriate site. I have not seen it. However, I do know of employees being fired because of it. We have exensive e-mail security and IT looks at everything. Amazing how they can tap into your PC, read your e-mail or anything they want to and you don't even know it.

A good few years ago I went to see one of the other secretaries in my division. When I walked into her office she was just doing an internet search for a particular type of underwater survey equipment with her boss looking over her shoulder, when the search pulled up very inappropriate content.
She was so embarrassed!
