I work for a professional organisation and am always interested (or should that be "horrified"? ) to see the garments and adorments that some people consider appropriate for an organisation such as ours!  

That said, I would probably hire this person and learn to live with her nose ring.  I would then make jolly sure that we had a dress code in place which set the limits of "self expression".
