Why do I get all the weirdos?
Me to applicant upon noticing he left "address" blank:
We need your address.
Him: I don't know my address.
Me: You may want to stop by the post office and ask them what your address is and then mail the application back with it written in.
Him: So in other words, you're saying "get out of here"?
Me: No, that's not what I said. I simply suggested that you check with the post office about your address.
Him: If you put my name and the town it will get to me.
Me: No, we need a complete address.
Him: So you're telling me to get out of here?
Me: No, you are putting words in my mouth.
Him: But that's what you meant, right.
Me: No (although at this point I would like to).
His wife: He's just teasing.
Him: Gotta have something to make your day interesting, huh?
Me: No, it's really not necessary.
This guy thought he was being funny but it sounded like he was trying to say that I'm being rude to him and telling him to get out. I was not about to agree to that. I was nothing but nice to him until he started putting words in my mouth. I was not going to play his little game.
Please go back to whatever spacecraft you flew in on.

This guy a) didn't know his address and b) brought his wife with him to apply for a job?? Hmm... well, considering his side of the dialog you had with him, it probably makes sense that he needed someone to hold his hand (he probably needed her to help him get to the bathroom, too)!

If I was you, after he said that if you put his name and the town on the mail and it would get to him, I'd have asked if he was Santa Claus!

Gosh, we can't even process applications without a full and complete address. We get a lot of folk who don't seem to fill in the city/state/zip part. If it's a part of town that I am aware of, then I fill it in for them, but sheesh... why can't people follow directions?
On the subject of bringing family members, we recently had one lady who brought her daughter (a teenager) on an interview to one of our offices. I was asked to contact her for some reason after the interview, and her daughter picked up the line after the lady. The daughter then demanded to know how much longer the mother was going to be on the phone, while the mother is yelling at the daughter to hang up.. and I was in the middle of listening to the sparring match.
It really makes me wonder how desparate people want to work if they behave like that.
