depressed and stressed out...

DH and I have been trying to have a baby for a long time now and the news isn't getting any better.  Later this month we are off to see a specialist.

To top it off, there are three pg women on the same floor at work and one of my good friends (who just went off bc pills last month) is pg.

Hopefull that today is better than yesterday.

I'm sure it'll get better Nola. .. (somebody held me out here), what was it Anne of Green Gables says? "Today is new and fresh, with none of yesterday's mistakes."  (Or something to that effect. . . )

I'm just plodding along as normal, trying to get everything taken care of before the world crashes in here at work tomorrow.  More details on that after the fact.

Yes, that would be Anne of Green Gables.  Nolalady, I feel your pain.  I hope all goes well when you visit the specialist.

In general work life is fine, but I'm still more stressed than normal - here's why:

- Stress: Bossie and I are both on vacation next week and have major deadlines to meet before we're off.  He's already said he may be back in on Monday, but hasn't said I need to be.

- Lack of sleep:  DS is recovering from his surgery - still in a lot of pain, and we're waking up every 4 hours to give him his pain meds (he wakes us).

- Stress:  DS surgery, period!

- The unknown:  We had planned the vaca time so it would be before the surgery, but then they had a cancellation and we thought it would be best to have it done now so DS wouldn't have to go back to school and have a bunch of 7th grade brats asking what's wrong with his weenie.  But now that the surgery is done, we have no idea what our vaca plans are going to be now.  We can't go anywhere that involves activities he can't do, or he'll feel guilty that he's depriving us of having this fun: swimming, amusement parks (rides), bicycling or horseback riding, and probably he won't be able to do a whole lot of walking at one time, either.

Enough?

Donna,

Maybe you can just take a road trip?  Head out somewhere that has some beautiful scenery and cool stops along the way (think biggest ball of string).  Just pick a good site like the Crazy horse mountain and a byway and go!  There is a website that lists all of these road trip stop offs, but I don't remember the site.  I'll do some searching though and let you know.  I'm sure that any time away from work will be a welcome relief.

As for me, I"m wired but stressed and tired.  Not a great combination.  Let's hope no one ticks me off.

Nolalady, I understand what you're going through.  I wanted a baby very badly and it took me a while to conceive DS.  The crying bouts I went through each month were the worst in my life.  I remember going to a party where everyone had little babies, I'd just got my "friend" again, and I hid in the bathroom and cried the whole party.  It was awful.

I hope the specialist gives you some good news and everything works out for you and hubby.

I just want today to be over with.  I am going away for a long weekend with two of my sisters.  So, I am gearing up for the 6hr drive to the Jersey Shore.  LBI - here I come.  I can not wait to just sit my @ss on the beach and relax.  We have a pool, but with 3 siblings with two children each, all us single sisters hear is "Auntie watch this", "Auntie will you swim with me" "Auntie, Auntie Auntie".  Some times I swear to God I hear Auntie in my sleep.  I love them all will all my heart and would give my life for each and every one of them, but we single and childless aunties need to go 4 states away to get a break.  Not to mention that work is painfully slow right now, most of my guys are on vacation, planning a vacation or just getting back from vacation.  You would think that with 29 people to support I would be kick @ss busy and I usually am but summer is our slow season.

Nola,  I will keep you in my prays.  My oldest sister and bro-in-law tried for the better half of 11yrs before they were blessed with my niece and then three years later had my beloved Godson.  She had to quit a very stressful (long term) job before she as able to relax and conceive.  Good luck and God Bless.

I've been having weird nightmares that wake me up during the night, and then the stress of them makes my blood sugar soar in the morning.  To treat the high sugar, I have to pump in a load of insulin which tends to make me feel hungry, but I shouldn't eat until the sugar is down which can take a couple hours.  So I'm tired, feeling crappy, and hungry.  I'll be better by lunchtime (it's on the way down now) but it's really hard to do any thinking right now.

And WHY did the Dept of Transportation decide to have almost every stinking highway in this area under construction AT THE SAME TIME! You end up with a headache before you even get here.

So my happy thought today is that it's only 25 days until my vacation.  I'm heading to Ocean City!  I'm going to plop my pudgy little posterior on the beach with a bottle of water and a bag of books and RELAX!
