I do hope everyone here is ok.  I am having (as the subject line states) the worst day of my life.

I was upgraded to a new system at work.

My computer has not behalf ever since.

It even decided to draft bills for every matter that we are working on ... and now I cannot even get into the wretched program to delete the 20,000 draft invoices my system has decided to create!

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Angry

Thanks for letting me scream.

I would love to hear how other people cope when their IT department changes stuff causing their system to beggar up everything, and how not to feel like a real heel (even if I know I did nothing wrong and the problem would have happened anyway, just to someone else!).

Any ideas guys?

Your in despair  Cry

Jess

IT dept causing havoc??  Never!

I feel your pain.  I just hope you are going to recycle those 20,000 draft invoices...Cheesy

Seriously though, you know what to do.  Log a call and have IT come and fix the mess their upgrade created.  Sometimes tweaks are needed when implementing an upgrade/new system.

Take a walk, get some fresh air and chillax Mrs.....you are allowed to vent, but it's not your fault.

Chill pill will have to wait, because I have to delete them all off the system, which means I have to confirm 20,000 'yes I want to delete this sucker' messages too!

Then I will go for a smoke and then kill IT!

Well, all I can do is laugh! Undecided

As for recycling, at least they are only on the system and not in paper!

Thanks for your message though!

Have fun, Gee, and think of this poor sole pressing the Y button on her computer a heck of a lot (hm wonder what the mileage is on this keyboard now!)

Am deleting in batches, but each individual draft needs confirmation that it is to be deleted.

My new best friend is now Robert Ludd (if I have his name right, you know, the guy who started the industrial revolution and the backlash against factory based spinning wheels taking work away from the old mothers in their cottages!)

Jess-  I feel your pain!  We have 3 versions of e-mail running at this time with the merging of two organizations.  I am on the oldest version, my new boss is on one version higher than mine (which is not entirely compatible) and half of our field organization is on a completely different program.  Needless to say, the systems do not talk as far as meeting notices / changes to repeating meetings (which means I have to send a separate notice for each group for the same meeting so it stays on their calendar) My version crashes every time I try to accept or reply to a mtg notice on behalf of my boss.  This is only one of the issues I am dealing with as far as systems.  Ahhhhh!  Take me Away!!!!

I have logged so many IT tickets for help, I have lost count.  IT can't keep up.

This too shall pass.

Jess,

How are you today...your fingers, your sanity, your mood?  Huh

We've had snow overnight.  At 6.30am this morning, I was not a happy bunny I can tell you.  The sun is shining now so fingers n toes crossed it melts!

Next time, I need more notice!

Well, I managed to finish them off by 4.50pm yesterday!  Of course, I cannot see straight now and my right arm feels like it has been broken in at least 20,000 places, but at least (hopefully) it won't happen again.

Of course, I now find that my system is even worse than ever as I cannot get into vital programs to do urgent work at all.

Swings and roundabout.  A bit like the weather.

We are expecting up to 5cm of snow on Saturday in London and it is bitingly cold.

Gee, keep warm and I will try to warn you - heads up Gee, it is going to get colder ...  - how's that for forewarned.

Now all I need is a hug and a huge bottle of something smooth and red (preferably mulled!)
