The value of these type of events is that everyone is on a level playing field (unless you have a hobbyist glass designer in the group).

At work everyone has their roles and their specialist knowledge, which can create barriers.  Everyone doing an activity which is new and equal creates an openness and that allows people to do something I regularly advocate - trying on each other's shoes!

I don't think for one minute that Cathy is saying that all the problems have been rectified, but individuals have a new opportunity to contribute to rectifying them through seeing them from a different perspective.
