I have a personal directory on my work phone, where I keep the numbers to a minimum (parents and daughter plus a couple of colleagues at other institutions). I use the recent calls list most often though because it is quicker to access and I don't make/take huge numbers of calls so generally the ones I need are near the top of the list.
We do have excellent phones where I work and I am sure we don't use the full features they can offer.
On my mobile I store by name and it is quick to look up, but I don't bother with adding the voice speed dial to them.
I am on the lookout for a landline phone for home that is both VOIP compatible and allows SIM card transfer - this would be ideal since I can update records there or in my mobile and synchronise them (I hate fiddling with adding numbers to phones!)
