I quite agree with everyone so far. I got myself into a similar pickle some years ago (but didn't have such good support like here at DD).  

I would add don't necessarily ignore your 'mistakes' but you should really re-emphasise your good points, what makes you stand out in the crowd, what only you can do (such as put a smile on a co-worker's face etc).  Even with a nasty cold it does help.
