General Discussion / The Humour Zone / Re: Southernisms

Guess where I was born? Look at the name and no, not Seatle. But I spent my summers in a rural area in Pennsylvania (I know it's not technically the South but it's close enough for me). I have kept 4 Southernisms and people here in NYC still laugh at me for it.
1. Y'all
2. Orange (OR'nge)
3. Sass
and the last....
4. Put-put Golf
Trust me, I get laughed at frequently. But sass has got to be my favorite!

General Discussion / The Humour Zone / Re: Preparing For The Class Reunion

OMG, I'm crying all my eyeliner off!!
I must admit, I'm not old enough to have a 25th reunion. My tenth, I guess, didn't happen (since my mother's phone number hasn't changed since I was IN high school and I can be reached through her for it). But I'm thinner now than when I was IN high school (you know, like Monica Gellar on Friends) and if I went there, now about 50 lbs. lighter, I think I would make half of the class faint!
Hope 30 years is better!

That has got to be the best warning ever! *slips the ring back in the box* Is there a Boyfriend 6.0 coming out soon?
Note to self - Pitch Boyfriend 6.0 to Bill Gates.

Yeah, every year, NASA tracks the flight. Remember the times when they got "sighting reports" from various space shuttles and even from MIR!! I love this time of year!

That was probably the best thing I could read today. I feel so worn down, so let down, so beaten down today. I'm gonna finish my baked apple oatmeal, print that out in pretty colors and put it in my cube so I don't ever forget about the best things in life.
And I'm baking cookies tonite! Hope everyone has the best day today!

General Discussion / The Humour Zone / Waiting for the January Thaw!!!

I know how you feel. In the NYC metro area (aka: Jersey on the waterfront) we have ice and snow that is almost 2 weeks old, filthy, and will not melt. And it's been up to 40 degrees here. We need that yearly heat wave that comes, when in January, third week usually, we have temps sometimes up 60 degrees. Once in a while it forgoes us, but it's pretty constant. And everyone asks, "Where did all this heat come from?" to which I reply, "Same place it did last year, the Gulf!"
