Hi ya'll (Texas people, that is),

Very quick question --- If a traveler just says he wants to go to "Houston" which airport should I use?

Thanks in advance,

cocookie, I'm not a texas person but when I went to visit my friend in texas a few years back I took Houston Hobby airport.  I'm not sure what it looks like now as it was under construction last time I went in mid 2000.  I can ask her if you like and I'm sure she would probably still recommend Hobby.

I was always under the impression that Intercontinental was the main airport in Houston.

What's the difference between them?

Hobby is more the business traveler/commuter airport.  If you have access to Southwest Airlines, then you want Hobby.  International is more the tourist airport.  Hobby usually has cheaper flights, but they are both equally good.

Thanks for your replies.  I found out that his meeting is in the northern part of Houston and his contact recommended Intercontinental.
