Boss wont stop interrupting you?

Ok we have talked about how to handle interruptions, but how do you handle it when the interruptions come from your boss?  What do you do if your boss looks over your shoulder at projects,  pesters you on the status every 5 minutes, or knows you have an important project but interrupts you for other stuff?

I have to admit, if my boss looks over my shoulder at projects or pesters me for status on something, I'll call him on it.  Giving me new projects that interrupt, well, he can do that because it's all for him ultimately.

You have to speak up. It's not easy the first time, but you get used to it. "Bossie, I'm finding it difficult to give this the attention and concentration needed to do a good job on this, and get it done quickly. If you could hold off on bringing these other things to me for ___(time)___, we could sit down and review them together when this is completed."

Absolutely - let bossie know!  I had a boss that I had to "train" in that respect.  His problem was that after he gave me a deadline project to do, he would then come to me about every 10 minutes to see how it was progressing.  It took a while, but I finally trained him to bring me the projet and then leave me alone!  I think in the end he realized that I actually got things done faster!
