So it was a crazy morning...I went off and got lunch at Mickey-D's, only to come back and barely have time to eat because there was lots of work to do and I was also trying to help out at the front desk. Then things finally quieted down, and my supervisor asked to speak to me. Sure. She took me into a conference with one of the principals, and they told me I've been laid off because there "isn't enough work for me to do!" What? Excuse me??

I could hardly believe my ears. Yes, Word Processing has been slow off and on lately but sometimes it still gets NUTZ, other departments are hopping, and somebody in Admin is
always out sick or something (except for Yours Truly, thank you very much) so surely I could be of use somewhere. And in fact I have been! I think they're going to miss me, yes, I really do... (besides, who is going to decipher all that horrible handwriting now?!)
However, for now simple logic has escaped them I guess. So here I am, out on my bum, looking for a new job. Wish me luck! It just kinda hurts, you know, because not only was this the best job I've had so far, I really liked the people there and considered many to be like family, in fact. But stuff happens. Several people have already told me "when a door closes, another one opens," etc., etc. Yup, I learned that last time this happened. I already have a lead--at one of the architectural firms our company works for! Hot-dog!
Looking for the next door in Washington State!
