The Top Employers for Working Families Benchmark and Awards 2012, recognise organisations across the UK who do the most to support work-life balance and career development for working parents, carers and flexible workers. Founded by the work-life charity, Working Families and sponsored by Computershare Voucher Services, Top Employers for Working Families recognises innovation and creative thinking in designing family-friendly and flexible policies.  The awards spread the word on best practice and encourage pioneering approaches to improving working lives and building business success. Entrants complete a benchmark survey on their policies and can opt to enter one or more of the Special Awards.  For more information, go to: www.topemployersforworkingfamilies.org.uk

Sarah Jackson, Chief Executive of Working Families said: “The 2012 Top Employers for Working Families awards finalists have developed inspiring workplace policies to support their working parents, carers and flexible workers.  These progressive employers clearly recognise the links between flexibility, employee engagement, wellbeing and high performance”.

Julian Foster, Managing Director of Computershare Voucher Services (CVS) adds: “We’re delighted to continue to support the Top Employers for Working Families Benchmark and Awards. Families are at the heart of what we do at CVS and our congratulations go to the shortlisted companies who put so much emphasis on the needs and wellbeing of their employees. With research recently published showing that childcare costs have risen again in the last year, anything that employers can do to support their employees in returning to work and caring for their families should be applauded and mirrored by others.”
