Tube walk-out dates confirmed

London Underground workers are set to strike four times in two weeks.

Tube employees’ union the RMT announced members will stage a walk out on June 19, 27 and 29 and July 1. The industrial action has been prompted by the dismissal of colleague Arwyn Thomas and the refusal to reinstate him. He is awaiting the outcome of an employment tribunal.

While London Underground claims the action is premature as it precedes the tribunal result, the RMT’s general secretary Bob Crowe reacted by saying LU had “dragged its heels” and the union was left with no other choice.

A Transport for London spokesman said: "It is completely mystifying that, having agreed with London Underground that the tribunal process should take its course, the RMT leadership is now threatening strike action again.

RMT drivers will strike between 0901 on June 19 and 0300 on June 20, between 0901 on June 27 and 1159 on June 28, between noon on June 29 and 1159 on June 30 and between noon and 2100 on July 1.
