I've been posting in here for years and years and now it's time to call it a day.
I am moving on shortly to another job. I've been given the opportunity of a lifetime to step right out of what I've been doing for the past goodness knows how long and into a very different role with my own cohort of staff and a remuneration package to match.
My successor was appointed before Christmas and I've already introduced her to DD so I hope she will find this website as useful and entertaining as I have done.
This website was very different when I first began posting, but there are things about it that have never changed. I have greatly valued the support and advice I have received over the years. I am sure that it will continue to provide a valuable service to admins worldwide and to raise the professional game of admins who, quite often, "under-professionalised". And let's not forget the humour section on the website. Keep the jokes going, girls and boys - humour is so important.
I shall be popping in for a short while yet, but this is my swansong. Have a fabulous 2009. I hope that everyone is healthy and happy after the holidays and at the start of this new year. I know it's a difficult one with redundancies, pay cuts etc, but I wish you all the best for the future.

Congratulations! I will miss your cheery and level headed responses. You have been a wonderful and very special part of this website and it is distinctly a loss for us.

I've always enjoyed reading your posts - you will be missed. Your advice was always "spot on"! I'm happy for you with the new opportunity - good luck.

Well, as I said, I'll be around for a little while longer. I'm doing some handover to Raindance Mark II. The person who will replace me has a splendid sense of humour and is twenty times more efficient than me, and is one formidable EA (she's not only working full-time but also studying in the evenings and is doing a thousand and one other things). I won't say who she is - that's up to her. She's watching me type this, so I have to say nice things about her even if she's just twisted one of my arms behind my back. Ouch!
Seriously, it's been fun here on DD. I've learned a great deal whilst I've been loitering and lounging about on this website.
