Title: Do you think "big" or do you think "safe"? Post by: susans on May 29, 2008, 08:35:31 pm Do you think "big" or do you think "safe"? Risk taker or someone who plays it safe or mix of the two?
To be honest I think if you want to get ahead, you have to know when to take risks (and actually take them) and when to know to play it safe. Title: Re: Do you think "big" or do you think "safe"? Post by: gee4 on May 29, 2008, 08:52:56 pm Well there are many ways to look at this eg. I would never risk overtaking a car on a bend, however I would take a risk on a job opportunity or even a date! Life is too short but I agree, you have to know when it's time to play it safe. I only take risks if I think it's going to be of benefit to me.

Whenever I tried the risky way I had to pay for it. Traudi Title: Re: Do you think "big" or do you think "safe"? Post by: spitfire78 on May 30, 2008, 09:22:42 pm Oh, I think for the most part I'm much more "safe". I tend to think and think and think before leaping. There are pros and cons to that. Sometimes it has kept me from making a huge mistake, and sometimes I have lost out on a good thing because I took too long mulling it over.

I can dream up all kinds of fabulous ideas. The happy thing for me is that I am also sufficiently detail oriented to then take those big ideas and break them down into concrete steps so the ideas actually come to fruition. :)

He has the big ideas and broad concepts. I deal with the details and contingency plans and the other "CYA" matters.

However, this week I took a risk and sent in a resume for a job I saw listed in the newpaper. Now I'm going through the "did I really do that?!" thought!

As I get older I think "safer", but I was the daredevil party girl once and really miss that side of me. I set myself 4 goals before I'm 40 to keep life "big". I've done 2, 1 has definitely fallen by the wayside and I still have 1 to achieve :D |
