Title: Group Calendars - Online - Anybody doing this? Post by: bc13 on January 27, 2006, 05:59:26 pm I'm trying to find the best way to set up a group calendar or online calendar for my office. We are all running different versions of Microsoft Office and Outlook. I tried the other day to export the contacts from bossie's computer, which is Outlook 2003, to mine , which is XP, and what a MAJOR hassle it was to do that, as 2003 is not compatible with XP on this. So, I started finding info on Google about software that works with Outlook without Exchange, for sharing calendars and contacts, etc.
I would like to get some kind of online group calendar going for a 5 person office, and even some kind of area where we can share a Contacts list would be great. I would like for us 5 to be able to log in and change the calendar, etc., and have accessibility for our board members to view as well, but not change. I think WebOffice.com and Hyperoffice.com both look like they have pretty good programs, but they are $40-$60 a month for an office of our size. Our servers are very old, and we don't run Exchange, so this online calendar sharing and file backup looks like a really good alternative to me. Does anyone else have Group calendars or Online calendars that are shared by lots of folks, and how are you doing it? Thanks! bc13 Title: Re: Group Calendars - Online - Anybody doing this? Post by: countrigal on January 27, 2006, 06:53:53 pm I have a calendar that is shared with the entire facility, but we all use the same version of MicroSoft's Outlook and therefore we simply use that Calendar but have it set up on our server in such a way that assigned folks have the ability to enter/edit information on it, but everyone can view it. Since y'all are all using the same version, not sure this option would be available to you.
