Title: incomprehensibly rude colleague Post by: JessW on December 03, 2009, 04:28:28 pm >:( ???
OK, so here is the situation. I monitor and control billing for a subdivision of hte firm which means that I report direct to several senior partners. One of them sent an email to the fee earners (copied in to their respective secretaries out of courtesy). The response received from one of the secretaries was: Just so you are aware of the state of play. I always follow the lead of my fee earners. Thus for my part, all outstanding invoices will always be churned out quickly. Therefore, if chasing becomes neccessary re: invoices, Jessica W will need to consult my fee earners directly. Now, am I just being overly sensetive or is that rude or what? Knowing her as I do, she probably assumed the email was sent at my request to have a dig at her personally. However, the email was sent for the fee earners to respond to only. I am getting upset, not least because the partner who sent it is a really nice guy who bends over backwards to be kind and thoughtful to everyone, and then she shows just how unprofessional she is. This also makes the rest of the secretaries look bad, in my view (and the rest of them are a good bunch to work with, on the whole!) Suggestions on how best to deal with this B1tch? I just want to hit her at the moment! Thanks for letting me rant. Jess Title: Re: incomprehensibly rude colleague Post by: gee4 on December 03, 2009, 04:38:14 pm Tis the season to be jolly.... :D
Jess, do nothing. The email this individual sent has completely embarrassed no-one but herself. Who would dream of saying "churned out" even if it is in an email? Cringeworthy! Milk maids might churn out butter ... Cathy Title: Re: incomprehensibly rude colleague Post by: Katie G on December 03, 2009, 09:09:41 pm Hm. Sounds like someone's brain-to-keyboard filter was turned off. Is this normal behavior for this person?
As far as what to do, I'm jumping on the "do nothing, say nothing" bandwagon. This is definitely a case for taking the high road. Title: Re: incomprehensibly rude colleague Post by: JessW on December 04, 2009, 02:20:38 pm Normal behaviour for that person? YES!
Have I been taking the high road since I first met her on 10.12.2007? YES! Does she have to be so insulting all the time? No, but she likes being obstructive! Do I (totally unlike my normal self you likes to see the good in everyone, no matter how naive that may be) wish she would get sacked? HECK YES! Thanks for letting me rant. I feel so much better now! |
