I know we have some people here on this list from Atlanta. I recently visited the city, and liked it so much that I'm considering moving there. But I want some information from you guys. What's the job market like? Where's a good area to live? (I'm in my 20s, single, with no kids) What can an admin expect to make there? Anything else you'd like to volunteer?

Thanks!

Just checked in and saw your post.  Atlanta's a great place - and the job market is probably one of the best, especially right now.  Even though some companies are laying off, others are hiring.

As far as where to live - the popular places for singles are Buckhead and Midtown areas.  The highest salaries are going to be downtown and Midtown, but as you know admin salaries can vary greatly even in the same area.

I live in the 'burbs (not too long ago, my area was rural), so I don't have a lot of info, but check out this website - pretty much every kind of information about Atlanta is available from this site:  www.accessatlanta.com

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. My company does have an office down there, but who knows if they'll be hiring when I move? (which probably won't be for another 18 months or so) It sounds like the market is a lot like Chicago's as far as who's hiring. I'd prefer to stay with my company, but again, it's up in the air. Thanks for the link too.
