Reporting in from the City of London, 5 mins from the Tower.

Looks like we're quite a diverse group - I'd love to share tips and hints for visitors.  One of the things I love to do in London is walk along the south bank of the Thames starting at Tower Bridge, heading west.  You can walk as far as you want - to Westminster and beyond if you're feeling fit, or just to Southwark Cathedral, Tate Modern Art Gallery, or one of the Wharves for shopping, etc..  The National Film Theatre is a great place to end up on a Sunday afternoon - at the moment there's a season of Jimmy Stewart fims - I might find myself there this weekend.

Anyone out there have tips on what to do in Vancouver, Alaska, Utah, or Tennessee - hubby and I are planning our hols, but can't come to any meaningful decision?

Amsterdam! Someone wanted some info as she has been offered to transfer from France to Amsterdam.  She was wondering if there is anything specific she should put in her relocation package!  Any tips?
Thanks

Have to confess I don't read every board as often as I should either.

I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska.  Came to Orlando, FL via Chicago, IL and Three Oaks, MI.

Where is Three Oaks, MI - you ask.  Directly across Lake Michigan from Chicago.

kohinoor from Rommerskirchen (between Cologne and Düsseldorf) in Germany.
I wish I could be here more often but there is not much time left at the office and I still don't have access to the web at home.

Wie geht es Ihnen?

Mit meinen besten Wunschen fur ein erfolgreiches und friedliches Neues Jahr.

- that's as good as my German gets (apologies for the bad spelling/grammar)!  Good to hear from you in Germany.  What's the weather like in your part of the world?  Today in London it's beautifully sunny.

Das war fast perfekt!

Vielen Dank für die guten Wünsche. Auch euch / Ihnen allen wünsche ich ein frohes Fest und ein gutes neues Jahr.

Weather is changing from day to day. One day it is well below 0°C (freezing point) and dry, next day its +10 ° C and raining.

So many people are getting sick now because of these constant changes.

I am so glad I will be on holiday starting monday. I am fed up with everything (weather, job,..., my daughters broken leg,....) and everybody (my boss, my collegues...).  Thats why I came into the hub today. Just needed a break.

Will take another look in tomorrow. Have to leave now to pick up my younger daughter at the kindergarten.

Bye
