Title: Is Your Workplace a Pantomime?
Post by: gee4 on September 30, 2011, 09:02:05 am
Yesterday a member of staff booked our departmental meeting room for a 1:1 this morning and asked me for a new flip chart for the stand, so I provided one.  Unbeknown to me another guy who was using a different meeting room, removed the flipchart and stand for his meeting also taking place this morning.

The first guy noticing the flipchart and stand was gone when he got in this morning, went to investigate, saw it and stole it back before the second guy appeared for his meeting!

I am seriously going to start writing my memoirs.  It really is a pantomime in here.  Previously what was in a meeting room, stayed in a meeting room and was not to be removed.

I think a lot of the behaviors and attitudes we're seeing in the workplace now stem from the same place outrageous behavior comes from outside the workplace:  Entitlement Run Amok.

And my patience for it, I must admit, is wearing pretty darn thin.  >:(

Problem is, I don't have an answer for it that will let me stay employed!  :-\

We have had reorg lately, so alot of people moving.  Our former President had a nice office chair in his office, that was to be shipped to his new office when he moved, (orthopedic chair special for a back problem).  Our facilities guy went to get the chair, and it was gone.  Finally found it, one of the HR Managers had stolen it and was using it in his office.........BUSTED!

Folks just help themselves to anything these days.  We have to watch the temps and the supply closet too.  they load up school supplies for their kids and then leave.

Kettle has now disappeared this morning!!

If people work over the weekend and want to borrow something, can't they leave a note on my desk?!
