DIY shorthand refresher practice Reply to this post

Hi
Can anyone advise me of where I can get speed dictation practice from? I am hoping to brush up on my very rusty shorthand skills.

I would like to listen to specific timed dictation so I can keep a note of my 'hopeful' speed improvement.

Any suggestions greatfully received.

Have you thought about using audio books and the stopwatch facility on your mobile phone (if you have one, of course)?

Just a thought!

I agree with Jess, the only exercise I can think of is audio and try and time yourself.

Alternatively try watching the news and take down some dictation.

Pitman do an excellent refresher course. If you have a centre near you, I would try them.

Hi there,

Have a look at www.shorthandworld.co.uk - the site offers lots of shorthand information/links and also sells a series of speed disks.

Regards, Isibindi
